Kate Poitevin was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. After a two-year stint in New Jersey and one in Seattle, she returned home, eventually found husband, Jim, and settled in Spokane in 1980.
They have three grown children, six grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and three grandsons and four granddaughters-by-choiceShe got interested in writing while helping her father write his memoirs. Years later, a young friend invited her to a writer’s group meeting and she was hooked. She wrote her series for and about her grandchildren, never intending to publish. Her fellow authors pushed her along and helped make it happen.
Kate is also a Regional Chieftain in the Irish Clan Cian and spends many of her summer weekends at Highland Games around the Pacific Northwest with her Celtic family. She is a member of the Tin Pencil Writers Group and Spokane Authors and Self Publishers, and enjoys her memberships in Eastern Star and Amaranth.
