2023 sees Tāmaki Makaurau punk quartet Miss June return ready to
showcase an updated sound with energy inspired by the mayhem and chaos of the past two years.
Back on stage, they supported My Chemical Romance at Western Springs
and brought back the trademark energy and chaos of MJ at their very best to sold out Wellington and hometown headline shows.
Meanwhile back in the studio, the group has been completing a second album that promises to build on the pre-pandemic debut album Bad Luck Party’s acclaimed mix of melody, noise and attitude with killer pop hooks.
Having already caught the attention and support of bands such as Foo
Fighters, Wolf Alice, Idles and Shellac, Bad Luck Party saw Miss June tour the world, developing a growing following until they were left stranded by events that also saw singer Annabel return to her career as a medical doctor in the pandemic.
But now it’s time to look out for Miss June, still packing what UK outlet Joyzine called “an exuberant anger in their DNA”, performing next up at Big Sound and SXSW Sydney and releasing new music very soon.
