“Up front the singer is all of the Spice Girls rolled into one. Powerful, charismatic, engaging, entertaining, sporty, spicy and, at times, scary. But damn, can she sing.”
Mitch, Please are a 5-piece nerd punk band from Meanjin/Brisbane. On December 9th, 2022, Mitch, Please released their second 6-track EP Yes, Thanks, which is the long awaited follow up to 2020’s debut EP The Bin Collection. Using familiar elements of satire and double entendre akin to The Bin Collection, Yes, Thanks takes inspiration from relatable shortcomings such as puzzle-addiction, over-consumption of fizzy drinks and the hoarding of band shirts.
Mitch, Please sit somewhere between pop punk and hardcore in the genre spectrum. Elements of fast-tempo melodic pop meet heavier metal riffs and vocals that range from thrash-heavy to Disney-whimsical, with many levels in between. With Kayla Philp on drums, Steve Reed and Matt Sim on guitar, Nick Bragg on bass and Polly Cooke on vocals/keys, Mitch, Please are a diverse cast of definitely humans making songs about cats and fizzy drinks and of course, mathematics.
