Nyiida (Andrews) was born in the music-rich community of Laventille.Her father was a devout Rastafarian and so Nyiida from her childhood was surrounded by reggae music.When Nyiida was 12-years-old, she entered a popular talent competition on television titled, “12 and Under,” placing 2nd in the preliminary round. That was her introduction to the stage and from there, Nyiida would perform somewhat regularly, but had not decided to take music too seriously.Then, the unthinkable happened. Her husband passed away and Nyiida was left to raise their children on her own. She looked at music as a way to make it through, financially and emotionally.In 2014 Nyiida competed in the Digicel Rising Stars competition where she placed third in the finals. Then in 2017 she participated in DiscoverMe Artist program.Here she co-wrote her single debut Phenomenal Woman. Along with, “Phenomenal Woman,” Nyiida has to date released, “I Choose You” and “Broken Promises.”
