Clarinetist, Bandleader

Orange arrived in New Orleans from his native Sweden in 1966. Immediately accepted by local musicians, he began playing at Preservation Hall while recording, playing gigs, and touring with some of the pioneers of Jazz. He brought out many of the old time players to play, record and tour with his New Orleans Joymakers. Orange has played and recorded with Jazz luminaries like Teddy Wilson, Earl Hines, Zutty Singleton, and Ray Bauduc. He accompanied Louis Armstrong at the Satchmo’s 70th birthday.
