Simon was born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia. He became passionately dedicated to learning and writing music from age 13 after hearing Nirvana Unplugged for the first time, an album that changed his life along with many other records from his parent’s vinyl collection. In 2005 he quit his day job to become a full time working musician playing both covers and originals as a soloist and with various bands. He has never looked back, performing somewhere between 2000 and 3000 live shows mainly on the Gold Coast, Australia but also in places such as New York, Miami, Jamaica and Mexico. He has always attempted to push the boundaries with his writing and playing skills throughout the years by being inspired to constantly refine his style.

With his current project ‘Simon Meola – The Liquid Eclectic’, he has entered new territory in terms of sound production, Simon wrote, recorded and mixed ‘The Purple Pill’ whilst self learning techniques in recording, mixing and fine tuning his ear for sound along the way.
