The Faculties are a swinging combo specialising in swing and dance music from the 1940s and 50s, including jazz, rock'n'roll, country and blues. At it's core is a red hot rhythm section trio, consisting of Greg Dean on keyboards and lead vocals, Adam Barnard on drums and backing vocals, and Mark Howard on double bass and backing vocals. This can be expanded into quartet, quintet or sextet, with the addition of horns, guitar, and/or guest vocalists.
The group has been gigging in and around Sydney for the past twelve years with quite a following among the swing dance community, and are guaranteed to get toes tappin' and hands clappin'.
Their CD Natural Ball is available to purchase or download from Bandcamp and is well worth doing!
