Robert Andrew Wagner is the folk-poet of Western Pennsylvania, and his band, The Little Wretches, is said to have created "the most powerful body of work to emerge from Pittsburgh since time began." (The Pittsburgh Press)
These days, Wagner mostly appears solo, sometimes with accompanists. He specializes in Musical Portraits and Cinematography of the Soul.
The Little Wretches mission statement comes from The Velvet Underground, "I'll be your mirror, reflect what you are, in case you don't know.
The Little Wretches vision statement comes from Mott the Hoople frontman, Ian Hunter, "I want to leave you in someone else's dreams."
The Little Wretches target-audience is defined by the prophet Isaiah, "The Lord God has given me the tongue of a teacher that I may speak a word in season to him that is weary."
When not performing, Robert teaches at-risk teens in the Philadelphia-area.
