White Knuckle Fever, Sydney’s swamp psychobluesabilly techno 2 piece, will ride you through a psychotropic hellscape and back! Celia Curtis (Circus Bizarre) & 3kShort (MGF). A high energy assault on decency & paint by numbers guide to devil worship.
White Knuckle Fever first got together to work on a tribute album for late Canberra/Adelaide artist Batterz in 2008.
Celia Curtis was the ringmistress for Circus Bizarre, performing in Melbourne and Sydney underground cabaret. At the same time 3kShort (Ross Johnston) a founding member, co-producer, co-manager and performer for Machine Gun Fellatio was a was working as a musical director, sound designer and composer for theatre in Sydney.
The collaboration was such a perfect fit they immediately created a full set of songs to perform live. A joint love and appreciation for psycho-billy, blues of all kinds, 70’s-80’s rock, the Stones and the Cramps mixed with 3k’s knowledge of techno meant they have a full rock sound performed by two people that can plug into any PA or system.
They have perform in any environment from big festival stages to kitchens and have all around Australia. Festivals from Splendour in the Grass to MONA FOMA. Bars, clubs, warehouses, laneways and parties have all been the usual stomping ground for White Knuckle Fever but they also have a distinguished track record for playing events like opening the Wim Delvoye retrospective at MONA, the Art Bar at Sydney’s MCA or just the closing the year for the Art Gall
