Inspired by artists and creatives who thrive on experimentation and the development of a unique core sound, ZHR takes his first steps into the spotlight.
ZHR - the artist moniker of Melbourne’s Zachary Hamilton-Reeves - is a musician whose music has been percolating over the last three years, meticulously coming together against a tapestry of rich sonic influences.
In his music, the listener can map some strong musical foundations: there’s R&B, alt-pop and charismatic contemporary song writing that ZHR has built his identity around. Blending genres and arrangements in a way that matches his lyricism in a natural and effortless way, ZHR has followed a passion for music that has been with him from a young age.
Enjoying early success in 2010, Northeast Party House would become one of Australia’s premier live groups and through the ensuing decade, Zach has also developed as a creative, independently of the band.
It’s this intensity and ambition to follow emotion in its most stripped back state, that has driven the ZHR project. Embracing vulnerability as a songwriter and following a musical path not necessarily frequented as part of Northeast Party House.
